Last weekend at the Penang Eco 100, Hutan Ration sent their technical team in supporting Team Malatra runners.
With a total of 9 runners, the team came in with a goal of getting a podium spot for every category. Team Malatra are represented by Razif Yahya (100miles), Adelinah Lintanga (100miles), Jeffery Budin (100miles), Mann Kidal (100km), Izzah Hazirah (100km), Fadz Dian (100km), Jen (100km), Huzairi Shah (50km) CIkgu Ling (30km) and Rara Ramlan (30km).
Penang Eco was held in Bukit Mertajam (Penang, Malaysia). The 30km, 50km and 100km categories start from the eco village of Sungai Lembu, taking runners through oil palm plantations, rubber plantations, pineapple plantations. It also pass several Malay kampungs Chinese new villages, and Indian temples, paddy fields, the challenging hills of Seraya, Mengkuang, and the by now iconic Tokun Hills. This race showcases the typical Malaysian geographical, social and cultural heritage. Runners will meet and see ordinary Malaysian people and wild lives, flora and fauna in the rural settings with a distinct small town feel.
Penang Eco 100 is part of the Asia Trail Master series, being accorded the status of Super Trail of Asia Trail Master for the last 3 years. It will continue to be a Super Trail in 2019. All the race categories of 30km, 50km, 100km and 100 miles earns qualifying points. The points will be used to qualify for Ultra Trail Mont Blanc (UTMB) and Ultra Trail Mount Fuji (UTMF) as well for 2019.

Jeffery Budin – 6th place 100miles
Izzah – 4th place 100km
Mann Kidal – 5th place 100km
Rara – 2nd place 30km
Cikgu Ling 3rd place 30km
